International Buddhist Academy
The International Buddhist Academy, or IBA for short, is a learning center for students of Buddhism from all over the world. In its four-year existence IBA has been providing a solid education in root texts of the Sakya tradition from renowned Tibetan scholars. I have just finished the three month summer session in which we studied the Abhidharma and The Triple Vision providing a strong foundation in Buddhist Philosophy and practice. In addition, IBA offers Tibetan language courses which are invaluable in order to further study root texts. It was an incredible opportunity to receive teachings with teachers that are currently unavailable in the west.
IBA also provides a valuable cultural experience in the Buddhist heart of Katmandu Nepal surrounded by beautiful monasteries, countless Buddhist authorities, and major Buddhist sites such as Lumbini. The Boudanath stupa is a twenty-minute walk away from IBA! IBA also provides wonderful accommodations including a library, shrine room, multiple classrooms, full basketball court, and a complete kitchen. The cooks do a great job providing healthy Nepalese, Tibetan, and western style food. IBA offers the practitioner a environment conducive to the fullest learning and practice.
