The Nalanda Institute is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization committed to the inner development and actualization of the powerful human qualities of wisdom and skillful means through Buddhist academic studies and meditative practices.
The Institute focuses on the study and practice of Eastern classical texts and East-West integrative disciplines. In essence, our objectives are to be in touch with reality and to live accordingly in our daily lives, to develop individual awareness, to engage in altruistic social activities and to protect the well-being of all sentient beings, especially those close to us.
The format of study and practice is based upon the ethical foundations of non-harming activities, wholesome deeds, and benefiting others. Through these efforts one becomes committed to developing the three wisdoms of learning, contemplation and meditative practice.
The Mission of The Nalanda Institute is to preserve the classical Buddhist teachings and develop deeper realization of all Buddhist practices through learning, reflection, meditation, and altruistic social activities. These opportunities provide individuals the basis for inner growth and increased practice of ethical, non-harming deeds for the benefit of our communities and interdependent environment.
